As the Mechanical Supervisor – LOTO , you will play a critical role in the safe delivery and commissioning of next-generation data center infrastructure by leading the implementation and oversight of lockout/tagout (LOTO) programs across complex mechanical systems. Working closely with construction teams, commissioning engineers, contractors, and safety professionals, you will ensure equipment is properly isolated, verified, and released in accordance with OSHA requirements and project procedures during startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities. Your technical understanding of mechanical systems, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will help prevent the release of hazardous energy, protect personnel, and support the successful delivery of mission-critical facilities. - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or hazardous energy control programs within industrial, mission-critical, data center, power generation, or large commercial environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in OSHA-compliant Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs, hazardous energy control, and mechanical system isolation, verification, and restoration procedures.
- Formal LOTO training or certification preferred; experience administering or coordinating project-wide LOTO programs strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500, First Aid/CPR, or additional safety certifications are a plus.
- Ability to read, interpret, and verify mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment submittals, and commissioning documentation.
- Proven ability to lead field personnel, coordinate across multiple contractors and stakeholders, and effectively communicate safety-critical requirements.
- Experience overseeing LOTO activities across multiple contractors and work groups while maintaining compliance with project safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical projects
Other important requirements :
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
- Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
- Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.
- Serve as the site subject matter expert for hazardous energy control, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, site safety procedures, and project-specific LOTO requirements.
- Review construction, commissioning, and testing activities to identify required energy isolation points and develop safe LOTO execution plans.
- Lead and oversee the execution of mechanical lockout/tagout (LOTO) activities on pumps, valves, piping systems, HVAC equipment, and other critical mechanical infrastructure.
- Manage LOTO activities across critical mechanical infrastructure, including chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, piping systems, CRAH/CRAC units, air handling equipment, heat exchangers, and associated plant equipment.
- Verify the isolation, release, and control of hazardous energy sources, including pressure, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal, and mechanical energy, ensuring systems are safe for personnel before work begins.
- Administer group lockout procedures, lock boxes, and personnel accountability processes when multiple contractors, vendors, or work groups are involved.
- Coordinate and communicate with commissioning teams, contractors, vendors, operations personnel, and safety representatives to ensure safe and efficient execution of work activities.
- Partner with commissioning teams to support equipment startup, shutdown, energization, de-energization, system testing, and turnover activities.
- Conduct field audits and inspections of active LOTO activities to verify compliance with OSHA requirements, site procedures, and project safety standards.
- Develop, review, and maintain system flow diagrams, P&IDs, isolation plans, and LOTO documentation to clearly communicate affected systems and boundaries.
- Maintain and audit LOTO logs, isolation records, permits, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to project personnel on LOTO procedures, hazardous energy control requirements, and safe work practices.

Compensation
- The expected hourly rate for this role is $53.00 U SD.
- Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications.
- Per Diem amount of $155.00 and project allowance, when applicable
- 15% night-shift premium for eligible roles, when applicable
- Overtime compensation for non-exempt workers for hours worked over 40 per week
- Relocation and Living-out-allowance (as applicable and based on successful candidate circumstances)
