This position contributes to Sunsweet’s success by providing key support to the Procurement department for assigned categories, tactical support to Buyers and development opportunity for a Procurement and/or supply chain career path professional. The right candidate will be a fast learner, flexible, detail oriented and organized. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, can work independently and take initiative. Experience working collaboratively with external and internal teams to influence process changes and departmental initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other related duties may be required and assigned.
- Process requisitions in SAP incorporating multiple ship to locations.
- Work with multiple internal customers responding to their needs as they become required.
- Assist Buyers with analysis and/or transactional activities.
- Cross functionally trains in other areas of the procurement department to ensure you have a balanced view of the day-to-day activities.
- New item creation and set up in SAP.
- PO and release maintenance including PO changes.
- Delivery, lead time confirmations with suppliers
- Price break set up in SAP.
- Work with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor the suppliers for quality, performance, and price.
- As time permits research new suppliers.
- Negotiate cost savings whenever possible.
- Manage assigned suppliers, categories, and inventory management.
- Maintain a positive image as a representative of Sunsweet.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills:
- Word, Excel, E-Mail, SAP or other MRP system experience is a plus.
- Organizational skills and time management capabilities
- Attention to detail and adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Ability to multi-task
- Provide operational support to buyers with a focus on business management and problem solving.
- Understand the managing functions for product category.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree preferred.
- 5 years of office work experience (manufacturing a plus).
- Buyer experience, accounts payable, receiving environments a plus.
Physical/Safety Requirements:
- Tolerate extended periods of sitting at desk.
- Ambient noise is louder than a traditional office setting.
