American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Telemetry (3S CV) position at a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital in West Virginia, requiring at least 2 years of telemetry/PCU experience and a WV or Compact RN license.

Cardiovascular Telemetry unit (3S CV) within a 838-bed, short-term acute care, Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)

Patient population includes pre/post-op surgical cardiovascular patients, medical cardiac patients requiring progressive care/monitoring, vascular patients, amputation patients, and detox patients

Patient ratio goal is 1:4, with a stretch ratio of 1:5; LPNs also work the unit and RNs may provide coverage over LPN patients, so total patient load may vary

Shift options: 3x12 or 4x12 day shifts, starting at 7:00 AM

Every other weekend required

Floating within scope to meet facility needs as required

13-week contract with 36-hour or 48-hour weekly contract options

Charting system: Cerner

Orientation is held every other week on Thursdays

Free parking available for travelers

Active WV or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending RN license may be considered

Minimum 2 years of Telemetry and/or PCU/IMC nursing experience required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) certification preferred
-
Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and PCU/IMC-level care required
-
Experience with special procedures including ostomies, chest tubes, wound vacs/care, CPAP/BiPAP, central lines, PICCs, and drips (Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and other cardiac drips) required

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify; candidates residing 75–99 miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
-
A copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card are required for consideration
-
Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); a documented medical allergy verified by an allergist or physician record is the only accepted exemption
-
Provide progressive cardiovascular nursing care including management of complex cardiac drips and monitoring for pre/post-op surgical and medical cardiac patients

Royal Blue or White scrubs required for RNs
