Job Description -
Engineering Technician 2 to support our Mechanical & Energetics department’s Additive Lab. As part of the Additive Lab, you’ll be using Fused Deposition Modeling to manufacture components out of polymer materials for all programs. This is a full-time contract position on-site in Chandler, AZ
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain additive manufacturing equipment, including 3D printers and post-processing tools, to ensure optimal performance and quality output.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.
- Validate, troubleshoot, and prepare CAD models and build files for additive manufacturing processes using appropriate software.
- Develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures for lab processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and project teams to support prototyping, research, and production initiatives.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and report generation for material performance and process improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to understand technical instructions
- Experience working in a production, operational or test environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good computer literacy skills in MS office and 3D modeling/CAD.
- Ability to support rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to work in manufacturing environment, including accessing stairs, and work platforms. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree/some college in a STEM field and 4 years additional related experience.
- Experience in Additive Manufacturing (3D printing).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency with Computer Aided Design.
This position is intended to be contracted to hire.
