We are seeking an experienced industrial refrigeration technician who is highly skilled in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of industrial refrigeration equipment.
Position Summary
The Commercial HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair, and install, industrial refrigeration system issues efficiently and accurately
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and system startups
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control-related problems
- Perform repairs on compressors, condenser fan motors, evaporator motors, contactors, relays, capacitors, expansion valves, and refrigeration circuits
- Troubleshoot low-voltage and high-voltage (480 v) electrical systems
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and sequence of operation documents
- Work with, thermostats, sensors, and basic building automation/control systems
- Perform refrigerant leak checks and properly handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA guidelines
- Communicate clearly with vendors and order required parts
- Complete service tickets, inspection reports, and job documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain professional communication with customers, property managers, and office staff
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA standards
- Participate in on-call rotation (weekends) as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of industrial refrigeration service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work on rooftops, cold indoor environments, and outdoor conditions typical of the Houston climate
- Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
