Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, including NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association code for electrical safety). The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic skills, experience with industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, and the ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments, ensuring adherence to all safety procedures and local codes.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system setups.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing devices to identify faults or inefficiencies.
- Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring installations safely while following NFPA 70 standards and NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports, troubleshooting logs, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople during construction or renovation projects, including blueprint reading and schematic interpretation.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete electrical wiring tasks efficiently on construction sites or existing facilities.
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems.
- Expertise in high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage systems within industrial settings.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Deep understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance standards for safe electrical installations.
- Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and circuit testers.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Familiarity with local electrical codes, safety procedures, and best practices for working on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high safety standards.
