Overview
Looking for an experienced Sub maker/Deli Slicer for a fast paced sandwich shop in Eatontown NJ. Looking for someone who is able to work week days/ weekends. Must speak English and have a positive attitude
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli items with precision and attention to quality, including slicing meats and cheeses, assembling sandwiches, and maintaining fresh product displays
- Operate POS systems to process sales efficiently while upselling products to enhance customer experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, ensuring proper change and receipt issuance
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, including food handling, bussing tables, and cleaning equipment
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service to foster loyalty
- Support food safety protocols by adhering to sanitation guidelines, proper food handling procedures, and ensuring compliance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or deli operations within a quick service or fast-food restaurant environment is a must
- Familiarity with POS systems is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods while maintaining quality standards
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations accurately
- Experience working in a retail grocery store or food industry setting is a plus
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and effective communication abilities
