Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid for Local Candidates- 3 days in office), Remote for no local can be entertained. Local candidates will be priority

Pay: $90.00 - $105.00/hour W2
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions within a large enterprise environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building production cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, improving security, and partnering with development teams to deliver reliable cloud platforms.
Candidates local to the Indianapolis area will work in a hybrid environment (3 days onsite per week). Remote candidates will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Automate cloud operations including monitoring, scaling, alerting, patching, and provisioning.
- Design secure cloud networking, IAM, storage, compute, and identity solutions.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.
- Partner with developers and cybersecurity teams to implement cloud best practices.
- Troubleshoot production cloud infrastructure and implement long-term improvements.
- Support enterprise cloud governance, compliance, and operational excellence initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud Engineering experience in a production enterprise environment.
- Strong experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Strong scripting skills using Python or Bash.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, cloud security, and DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps certification.
- Azure Administrator or Azure Architect certification.
- Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
- CloudWatch, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
- FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
- Experience supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated environments.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, or SOX.
- Agile development experience.
