Dr. Goldberg and Associates is a growing psychotherapy practice with six locations and over 100 mental health clinicians. We are currently looking for a Full-Time Billing Administrative Assistant to add to our support team at our Old Town Alexandria office in VA!
The candidate for this position will be working full-time shifts primarily in the Old Town Alexandria office but must be willing to work in other locations if necessary.
About the Role
The Billing Administrative Assistant is a specialist who will work directly with our patients to resolve billing and insurance issues, contact insurance companies to research denied claims, drive our team to collect patient balances, and post payments accurately in a timely fashion.
Shifts: Mondays-Friday, 11 am to 8 pm

A PLUS, but not required:
· Bilingual speaker
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Responding to billing-related calls, voicemails, and emails
- Communicating clearly and accurately with patients, clinicians, and admin staff regarding insurance claims and outstanding balance issues via phone and email
- Assisting in Billing training and identifying areas of improvement
- Researching and following up with patients and clinicians for corrections needed for claims processing
- Researching and appealing denied or rejected claims, including calling insurance companies and effectively using provider portals
- Identifying, communicating, and resolving insurance issues preventing accurate claims processing or accurate reimbursement
- Contacting insurance companies to acquire authorizations for service when necessary
- Assisting the Billing Manager with monitoring and clearing aging insurance balances
- Updating, correcting, or adjusting patient accounts accurately
- Upholding tidiness of the workspace and other small-scale office maintenance tasks
- Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

- Reliable transportation
- Preparedness to work in person; this is not a hybrid/ remote position
- Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma (or Equivalent)
