About the Role:
Eurofins TestOil seeks an experienced IT Manager to lead our software engineering, cloud platform, infrastructure, and IT support functions. You will guide a multidisciplinary team responsible for application development, cloud operations, cybersecurity, end-user services, and project delivery—keeping our technology secure, scalable, and reliable. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who pairs strong technical depth with a track record of building high-performing teams, setting technical direction, and championing security, service quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, systems administrators, and IT support professionals; set priorities, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Manage resource planning, staffing, and development, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Application Development & Engineering
- Oversee the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications built on .NET, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Ensure software meets security, performance, scalability, and maintainability standards; drive Agile and DevOps practices and manage technical debt.
Cloud Platform Management
- Lead administration, optimization, and governance of Microsoft Azure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerized platforms.
- Oversee Azure Application Gateway security and performance; apply Infrastructure-as-Code and optimize cloud reliability and cost.
Security & Compliance
- Champion a security-first culture across development, infrastructure, and support; ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee vulnerability management, access controls, and secure development; support audits, risk assessments, and business continuity.
API, Integration & Data Management
- Govern enterprise API development, security, documentation, and lifecycle; ensure reliable integrations across internal, third-party, and laboratory systems.
- Oversee Microsoft SQL Server performance, security, backup, and recovery; support data governance and retention.
Infrastructure, Support & IT Service Management
- Lead systems administration, infrastructure operations, and end-user support, ensuring stability and performance of servers, endpoints, and applications.
- Oversee identity and access management, endpoint management, patching, modernization, and capacity planning.
- Direct Help Desk and escalation/major-incident management; promote ITSM best practices and track service levels and customer satisfaction.
Projects, Governance & Strategy
- Manage multiple projects and competing priorities; develop plans, timelines, and risk strategies, and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Uphold technology standards and architecture principles; contribute to roadmap planning, budgets, and vendor and licensing management.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, automation, and AI-driven productivity solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years leading engineering, infrastructure, or technical teams.
- Proven experience leading enterprise application development and cloud initiatives, and managing Help Desk, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure Operations teams.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, AKS, Azure Application Gateway, Microsoft SQL Server, .NET / .NET Core, Node.js, TypeScript, and REST API integrations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server, and endpoint management; strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in laboratory, scientific, manufacturing, or regulated environments, including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Azure certifications; experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes administration, cloud security, and enterprise architecture governance.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery, business continuity, and compliance frameworks.
