Choose Healthy Life (CHL) is a national health‑equity initiative rooted in the Black church that mobilizes faith leaders, Health Navigators, and partners to expand access to prevention, screening, coverage, and care. CHL operates multi‑state HUBs and collaborates with federal, state, philanthropic, academic, and private partners to advance measurable community health outcomes.
Position Summary
The Finance Director serves as the lead internal finance operator for CHL, responsible for day-to-day financial management, budget oversight, and financial execution. This role ensures accuracy, discipline, and visibility across all financial activities, while partnering closely with the outsourced CFO team on strategy, forecasting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Budget Management & Financial Operations
- Own day-to-day management of CHL budgets across programs and markets
- Track spend and flag variances
- Partner with leadership to align budgets with operations
Accounting & Financial Processes
- Oversee AP/AR, reconciliations, and payroll coordination
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Manage financial systems and reporting
Cash Flow & Financial Visibility
- Monitor cash flow and reimbursement timing
- Support cash flow planning with CFO
- Provide visibility into financial position
Grant & Contract Financial Management
- Track restricted vs unrestricted funding
- Support grant and contract budgets
- Ensure funder compliance
Audit & Compliance Support
- Prepare audit and 990 materials
- Maintain compliance documentation
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years nonprofit finance experience
- Strong budgeting and fund accounting experience
- Detail-oriented and execution-focused
Location Requirement: Must reside in NY/NJ Metro Area
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
