This full-time contract opportunity—located near Saint Charles, IL—offers the chance to make a meaningful difference working with students across multiple sites as an itinerant educator, or within a middle school in a homebase position. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Comprehensive understanding of strategies and technologies for supporting DHH learners
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individualized student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working seamlessly with students, families, and teams
- Experience with educational planning, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Resourceful, organized, and flexible in a dynamic school setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting curriculum as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to provide consultative support, ensuring accessibility and accommodations
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Utilize assistive technology to enhance student engagement and learning
- Travel between school sites as an itinerant teacher (billable mileage provided) or work at a dedicated middle school location
- Provide training and guidance to staff and parents on strategies for DHH inclusion
