About GLADD
GLADD (Grieving Loss After Death and Dying) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that no one has to grieve alone. Through our 24/7 bereavement support hotline, grief coaching, support groups, education, and community outreach, we provide compassionate support to individuals and families navigating loss.
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and certified Grief Coaches to join our growing team as On-Call Grief Coaches.
Position Overview
As an On-Call Grief Coach, you will provide emotional support, active listening, and grief-related guidance to individuals experiencing the loss of a loved one. This is a remote, flexible, 1099 Independent Contractor position designed for professionals who are passionate about serving others during some of life's most difficult moments.
This role requires empathy, professionalism, and the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for callers seeking grief support.
CompensationPrimary On-Call Grief Coach
- $25 per hour while scheduled and available for assigned on-call shifts.
Backup On-Call Grief Coach
- $15 per hour while scheduled and available as a designated backup coach.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls and provide compassionate grief support.
- Utilize active listening and grief coaching techniques.
- Offer emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Document interactions according to GLADD guidelines.
- Refer callers to appropriate resources when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Participate in onboarding and ongoing training opportunities.
- Represent GLADD's mission and values with compassion and integrity.
QualificationsRequired:
✔ Certified Grief Coach Certification

✔ Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
✔ Computer or laptop
✔ Reliable high-speed internet/Wi-Fi
✔ Private and quiet workspace for taking calls
Preferred:
- Experience in grief support, bereavement services, hospice, counseling, social work, chaplaincy, mental health, or peer support.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
