The Maryland Heights Parks and Recreation Department has an opening for a part-time Customer Relations Aide. The Customer Relations Aide provides excellent customer service at the front desk of the Community Center taking registration, making reservations, selling memberships, answering phones and assisting patrons of the facility.
The Customer Relations Aide works under the general supervision of the Customer Relations Supervisor.
The starting pay for this position is $16.90 per hour.
This position requires the availability to work varying hours and shift times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Takes registration for programs, pavilion and facility reservations.
- Sells memberships and creates ID cards.
- Collects fees and processes paperwork through dedicated software.
- Assists with cash management.
- Answers telephone and responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Assists in the implementation of rentals and special events.
- Conducts facility tours.
- Supports emergency response as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent desired.
- Prior cash handling experience desired.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience or recreation programming desired.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge.
- Ability to learn RecTrac recreation management software along with other computer software program.
- Pleasant phone manners and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with public.
- Ability to multi-task
- First Aid and CPR/AED certified within 6 months of hire.Must be proficient with and have an intermediate knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation and email software. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
- Must be able to work in a fast-pace environment, be detailed oriented, have high energy and have excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions;
- Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations;
- Ability to think strategically and critically is required;
- Ability to work irregular hours, and assume added responsibilities as needed.
Special Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
