Position Overview
This role is responsible for leading and managing the company’s sheet metal operations, including fabrication, installation support, workforce leadership, safety, scheduling, and financial performance. The Head of Sheet Metal Operations will play a key role in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of sheet metal products that support field operations and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do
Operational Leadership & Execution:
Lead daily shop operations, fabrication priorities, and installation support to meet project timelines and business objectives.
Production Planning & Scheduling:
Coordinate with operations leadership, estimators, and field teams to align production schedules with project demands and ensure efficient workflow.
Budget Management & Profitability:
Oversee job costing, labor forecasting, and budget performance to ensure projects are completed within financial targets while maintaining productivity.
Fabrication & Materials Management:
Manage ordering, fabrication processes, and inventory control to ensure accuracy, cost efficiency, and timely material availability.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure all sheet metal work meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable code requirements. Maintain required documentation and support inspections.
Safety & Risk Management:
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety programs across shop and field operations.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop sheet metal personnel, fostering accountability, performance, and continuous improvement. Partner with Human Resources on hiring, training, and employee relations.
Customer & Operational Support:
Support customer satisfaction efforts through timely response to warranty items, effective communication, and consistent project closeout execution.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sheet metal, fabrication, or construction operations
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, materials, installation methods, and applicable codes
- Proven experience managing production, labor, budgets, and operational workflows
- Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising and developing skilled trades teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in commercial construction or roofing industries preferred
- Valid Driver’s license
- Must be able to lift 60 LBS+ and climb ladders
Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
