Service Call & Remodel Handyman — Pensacola, FL
$18–$20/hr to start + standard job rate on service calls + bonus incentives
We buy, renovate, and manage homes in and around Pensacola — rental properties, affordable housing, and fix-and-flip projects. We also manage the tenants living in the homes we own. We’re looking for one reliable, experienced handyman to handle our service calls and pitch in on remodels.
This is honest, steady work with a schedule that flexes. Some weeks are 5 hours. Some weeks are 40. It depends on the workload — how many service calls come in and where we are on a remodel or a flip. If you want a dependable side income that can grow into more, or you already run your own small operation and want a steady stream of work, this fits.
What makes this job different
You work independently. Nobody is standing over your shoulder. We brief you at the start of the week on what needs to get done, and then we trust you to get it done right. We check the work, not the worker.
What you’ll do
Tenant service calls & maintenance
- Leaking roofs, leaking toilets, running toilets, dripping faucets
- Door handles, locks, hinges, replacing interior and exterior doors
- Weather stripping, caulking, and general sealing
- Yard maintenance and pest control maintenance
- Miscellaneous repairs a tenant needs help with
Remodels, renovations & flips
- LVP flooring installation
- Drywall repair and texture
- Installing vanities, cabinets, and trim/woodworking
- General punch-list and turnover work
Anything requiring a pulled permit is not part of this job. We handle licensed trades — electrical, plumbing rough-in, HVAC, structural — separately. You’re never asked to work outside your lane.
What we’re looking for
- Real experience in construction, remodeling, or property maintenance. This is not an entry-level position. We don’t have anyone available to teach you the basics — you need to be able to look at a job and know how to do it.
- Reliable transportation. You’ll move between properties.
- Your own basic tool set. We supply materials and specialty tools.
- Honesty and reliability. You’ll be in tenants’ homes, often alone. That’s a level of trust we take seriously.
- Motivation. We’re improving the housing situation in this community one house at a time, and we want somebody who cares about that.
You do not need every skill on the list above. Some of it is required — the core repair and maintenance work — and the rest you can grow into.
Pay & hours
- $18–$20/hour to start, based on experience
- Standard job rate paid on qualifying service calls
- Bonus incentives available for quality and turnaround
- Hours vary week to week (5 to 40) based on workload
- We may start you at lower hours and increase them as you earn the time. Show us clean work and dependability and there’s more of it waiting.
- Open to W-2 or 1099 — we’ll work out what fits you best
