Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Front of House Team Member such as server and/or bartender and be the welcoming face at one of our three vibrant restaurants, The Daily Dish, Dish & Dram or J. Hollinger's Waterman's Chophouse. In this role, you'll deliver exceptional guest experiences by providing friendly, efficient service while managing various front-of-house responsibilities. Your energy and attention to detail will help create memorable dining moments for every guest, ensuring smooth operations from seating to payment processing. Whether you're engaging with guests at the host stand, taking orders at the bar, or assisting with food and beverage service, your enthusiasm will be vital in fostering a lively and inviting atmosphere.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems to optimize seating flow.
- Escort guests to their tables, provide menus, and answer initial questions about the menu offerings.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems.
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation while adhering to food safety protocols.
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, handling cash handling duties with integrity and professionalism.
- Support bar service with cocktail mixing, spirits knowledge, wine pairing suggestions, and beverage preparation to elevate guest satisfaction.
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas promptly, and maintaining cleanliness in all front-of-house spaces.
- Manage guest relations by responding promptly to inquiries or concerns with a positive attitude, ensuring every guest leaves satisfied.
- Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast; experience with Resy is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that fosters guest loyalty.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling duties.
- Experience with wine knowledge, spirits, cocktail preparation, and upselling techniques to enhance guest experiences.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks during peak hours.
- Hospitality or host/hostess experience is preferred; previous serving or cashiering roles are valuable assets.

Pay: $23.14 - $35.00 per hour
