Duties
- Process retail sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems while ensuring cash handling procedures are followed precisely
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities and improve customer satisfaction
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Manage inventory by conducting stock checks, assisting with product replenishment, and supporting stockroom organization
- Demonstrate products to customers when appropriate, highlighting features and benefits to encourage purchases
- Practice professional phone etiquette when handling inquiries or follow-up calls from customers or vendors
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers and team members
- Basic math skills for cash handling, giving correct change, and performing retail math calculations
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a broader customer base effectively
- Experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are beneficial for potential advancement opportunities
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours as needed
