OVERVIEW:
The Construction Project Manager - is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-efficient completion of construction projects by overseeing all their phases. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this position works with a variety of stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and coordinate stages of work with production staff to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Utilize cost saving and negotiation techniques to properly contract with subcontractors and suppliers for a complete scope of work.
- Read, interpret, and ensure compliance with project contracts, including understanding terms, conditions, scope requirements, and obligations to mitigate risk and support successful project delivery.
- Procure utility materials, including but not limited to, water, sewer, storm drain and electrical duct bank.
- Assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems.
- Attend interoffice meetings and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as required.
- Track, document, and file project progression reports and schedules.
- Provide accurate quantities and takeoffs utilizing the project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including overseeing crews, staff, and outside partners to meet or exceed client expectations and schedules.
- Completes compliance training as requested by the company, to be completed by required deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 5 – 7 years of relevant project management or related experience, OR
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to frequently travel to and navigate active construction sites, which may include uneven terrain, mud, gravel, and confined areas.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and climbing stairs or ladders while inspecting project progress.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment up to approximately 25–50 pounds.
- Ability to talk, hear, and perform repetitive motion.
- An appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Ability to exert up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- High School diploma and 8 – 10 years of relevant project management or related experience.
- Experience with project level documentation, such as subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, Purchase Orders, and invoices.
- Knowledgeable in project scheduling software (i.e. MS Project or Primavera P6).
- Experience in civil/substation or utility construction preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Projects, Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with construction management software platforms (i.e. Viewpoint Vista, PlanGrid, Procore).
- Ability to proficiently read and interpret Civil blueprints and specifications.
- Ability to effectively interact as well as communicate orally and in writing with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to an automobile for daily use.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
