Job Summary
The Safe Commute LLC is seeking a licensed Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) to serve as our Medical Director for our growing Basic Life Support (BLS) Ground Ambulance Service. This is a part-time, contract opportunity for a physician who is passionate about EMS and committed to ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
The Medical Director will provide medical oversight for the organization's BLS ambulance operations, assist with clinical protocol development, support EMT personnel, and ensure compliance with Georgia EMS regulations and industry standards. This position is ideal for a physician looking to make a meaningful impact in prehospital care while working in a flexible leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated Medical Director for The Safe Commute LLC's BLS Ground Ambulance Service.
- Provide medical oversight and clinical direction for EMT personnel.
- Develop, review, and approve patient care protocols, standing orders, and clinical guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Georgia EMS laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement (QA/QI) activities to promote high standards of patient care.
- Review patient care reports and provide clinical feedback when appropriate.
- Assist with initial ambulance licensing, inspections, and ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Provide consultation and medical guidance regarding patient care and clinical issues as needed.
- Support continuing education and clinical training for EMT staff.
- Attend periodic leadership meetings and collaborate with company management to support operational success.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Active and unrestricted Georgia medical license.
- Board certification or board eligibility is preferred.
- Experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, or EMS is preferred.
- Previous experience serving as an EMS Medical Director is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance operations and prehospital emergency medical services.
- Strong understanding of Georgia EMS regulations and clinical standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Ability to provide medical oversight while working effectively with EMTs and company leadership.
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Contract (1099 Independent Contractor)
- Approximately 1–3 hours per week, with occasional on-site meetings and availability for consultation.
Compensation
- Competitive monthly contract compensation based on experience and qualifications.
- Compensation is negotiable for candidates with prior EMS Medical Director experience.

Pay: $2,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month
