Job Description: Wood Processor Technician (Green Renewable of Manchester, NY)
Green Renewable, a leading provider of sustainable solutions in the Manchester, NY, is seeking a skilled and motivated Wood Grinder to join our team. This position requires strong excavator experience and the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The position will be responsible for grinding operations and will play a crucial role in our commitment to environmentally friendly practices. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using horizontal grinders.
Responsibilities:
Operation of Grinding Equipment: Utilize strong excavator skills to operate grinding equipment efficiently and effectively. Perform grinding operations according to established guidelines and safety standards.
Self-Sufficiency and Repairs: Demonstrate the ability to be self-sufficient and perform minor repairs on equipment as needed. Take initiative in maintaining the functionality of the equipment.
Equipment and Fuel Management: Schedule and coordinate the pick-up and movement of equipment and fuel as required for offsite grinding operations. Ensure equipment and fuel are available when needed.
Communication and Coordination: Maintain excellent communication with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure smooth workflow and successful completion of grinding operations. Report any issues or concerns promptly.
Daily Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure its optimal performance. This includes cleaning, greasing, and conducting basic inspections.
Qualifications:
Excavator Experience: Must have strong excavator experience and be proficient in operating excavators and grapples. Demonstrated skill in excavating and handling materials is essential.
Welding Experience: Possess welding experience to perform minor repairs on equipment. Basic knowledge of welding techniques and equipment maintenance is required.
Grinding Equipment Experience: Prior experience operating grinding equipment, particularly horizontal grinders, is highly preferred. Familiarity with safety protocols and operational procedures is essential.
Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Adaptability and time management skills are crucial for successful performance.
Strong Mechanical Knowledge: Possess a solid understanding of mechanical systems and components. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues is advantageous.
Independent Work Ethic: Demonstrate a self-starter mentality and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Take ownership of tasks and strive for excellence in all aspects of the job.
Excellent Communication: Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and other stakeholders.
