Seeking an experienced and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for a 9 year old boy in Happy Valley is looking for help beginning mid-September. Approximately 31 hours a week. He is outgoing, affectionate, easy-going, and happy most of the time. He enjoys music, climbing, playing in water, sensory activities, and being adventurous. He needs support building independence with ADLs, including eating skills, toileting and pull-up changes (including wiping), and mobility, as well as developing communication skills, emotional regulation, and managing self-injurious behaviors such as hitting himself or banging his head against walls. The family is looking for a dependable, experienced DSP who is comfortable and confident working with children who may exhibit challenging behaviors. There is one dog in the home, and the family smokes outside.
Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-9:00pm
- Saturdays 9:00am-4:00pm
- Approximately 31 hours a week
- Flexible Schedule

- Communication skills requiring patience and understanding
- Ability to provide occasional assistance with daily tasks

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary
- Assist with dressing, grooming
- Assist in daily living activities and needs
- Participate in life enriching activities
- A caregiver may assist with medication reminders
- Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance
Pay: Up to $24.00 per hour
