Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess extent of repairs needed, including auto body repair, mechanical issues, and component replacements.
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring all necessary repairs such as transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and other mechanical services are included.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines to foster trust and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with insurance adjusters to facilitate claims processing and ensure proper documentation for each vehicle.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and monitor progress to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance packages or recommended repairs to enhance customer value and shop revenue.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, repair orders, and customer interactions while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Experienced or auto service management background with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Familiarity with auto estimating tools and service writing processes.
- Mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension components, tire services, brake systems, shocks & struts, diesel engines, air brakes, and more.
- Hands-on experience as a service technician or in automotive repair roles is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Strong sales aptitude with experience in upselling automotive services or automobile sales is a plus.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when necessary.
