We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Director of Food Assistance Programs to lead our comprehensive food and support initiatives. This leadership role involves managing multiple programs, developing innovative strategies, and fostering strong relationships with community partners. Position Summary
The Director of Food Assistance Programs provides strategic leadership and oversight for all Boca Helping Hands food assistance initiatives. This role ensures a reliable food supply, strong community partnerships, and effective program execution across multiple distribution sites.Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this position leads through oversight of key managers and external relationships, rather than day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Food Assistance programs across multiple locations
- Develop and sustain food acquisition strategies, including partnerships with food banks, retailers, and community donors
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, churches, and partner agencies supporting food distribution efforts
- Provide supervision and performance oversight of Warehouse and Distribution Managers
- Ensure coordination and effectiveness of food sourcing, storage, and distribution systems
- Oversee fleet and facility readiness in support of program operations (through direct reports and Shared Services)
- Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with partner agencies, grants, and internal requirements
- Prepare program reports for CEO, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- At least five years of experience in nonprofit operations, food systems, logistics, or multi-site program management
- Demonstrated leadership of teams through managers
- Strong relationship-building and community partnership skills
- Ability to oversee complex systems and drive performance without direct operational involvement
- Commitment to mission-driven service and client dignity
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
