Job Summary
We are looking for a driver to operate vehicles and transport cargo for our company. A driver typically works to collect cargo from our distribution center and deliver them to our customers. They will need to maintain electronic logs to track their route schedule and confirm deliveries. Their job is to operate a delivery truck or van in a safe, efficient manner to deliver cargo to customers within a prearranged route. They will also be responsible for collecting signatures from recipients when delivering cargo and collecting cash and or checks from customers. You will also maintain vehicle upkeep and cleanliness.
Essential Job Duties
- Practice safe driving habits
- Follow all state and national safety regulations and standards
- Accurately follow routes, maps, and directions
- Load cargo
- Keep exterior of vehicle clean and presentable
- Maintain and report vehicle equipment; oil, fill gas tank, perform general motor vehicle maintenance as needed for safety
- Clean windows, windshields, and mirrors as needed
- Keep interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter
- Load and unload vehicle
- Collect payments, document amount, and offer receipts when necessary
- Complete documentation such as logs, mileage, or cargo and passenger reports
- Follow schedules and rerouting in a timely manner when faced with traffic or congestion
- Touch Freight
- Follow DOT Standards
Skills and Experience
- Proven working experience as a driver, training will be provided.
- Proficient in math
- Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory logs and database
- Able to adapt to changing routes if needed
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays if needed
- Organizational skills and time management
- Good communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Valid driver license with decent driving record.
- Able to work 8+ hours per week.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Environment
- Driver will be driving for majority of their shift
- Comfortable working with customers
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, sitting and walking.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
