Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a passion for providing high-quality veterinary services. This role requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to ensure the well-being of our patients and support our veterinary staff in delivering exceptional care. Years of experience and knowledge will determine wage rate.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze results
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor animal health and behavior, providing critical care when necessary
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
- Provide education to pet owners regarding pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment
Skills
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Animal handling and restraint techniques
- Veterinary terminology and animal physiology knowledge
- Experience with kennel operations and animal husbandry practices
- Familiarity with dental terminology related to veterinary care
- Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care protocols
- Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques
- Aseptic technique for surgical procedures
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners
- Maintain Medical records
- Digital Radiographs
