Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Install new HVAC equipment and mechanical systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R systems to ensure reliable operation and extend equipment lifespan.
- Utilize hand tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments to identify issues with electrical systems, refrigeration units, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving ammonia refrigeration or other specialized refrigerants while adhering to EPA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining technical issues clearly and offering solutions that meet client needs.
- Maintain detailed service reports, logs of repairs performed, and documentation of system conditions for future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a similar field service role with a strong background in HVAC system repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is essential.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment installation, troubleshooting electrical systems, mechanical repairs, and building automation controls is required.
- Knowledge of air conditioning systems, and mechanical systems repair enhances your suitability for this role.
- Ability to operate hand tools confidently along with specialized diagnostic equipment
- Drivers License with a clean driving record to support field service activities.
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in electrical or mechanical fields are a plus.
