Kno-Ho-Co Ashland Community Action Commission Head Start is looking for enthusiastic Teacher Assistants and Center Aides who believe every child deserves a strong start in life. Our classrooms are filled with curiosity, laughter, discovery, and meaningful relationships—and we're looking for caring professionals who want to make a lasting impact.
What You'll Do
- Support a positive, safe, and engaging preschool classroom.
- Encourage children's curiosity through hands-on learning, exploration, and play.
- Assist teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote school readiness.
- Build nurturing relationships with children and families.
- Help guide positive classroom behavior using effective classroom management strategies.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create an exceptional learning experience.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for working with preschool-aged children.
- Experience working with young children is strongly preferred.
- A positive attitude, patience, flexibility, and a strong team-player mindset.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to encourage children's creativity, independence, and love of learning.
- Strong classroom management skills or the willingness to learn and grow in this area.
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is preferred but not required. We welcome applicants who are interested in earning their CDA while working with us!

We are open Monday thru Thursday, an occasional Friday from 8 - 3:30 for classes with children.
Pay: $14.28 - $18.00 per hour
