Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of dental assistants to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while managing medical documentation, medical records, and medical coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques are followed
- Operate and troubleshoot digital imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ( CURVE HERO ) for accurate documentation of patient information and treatment plans
- Oversee infection prevention management by implementing dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control standards
- Support the dental team with chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures
- Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with oral surgery preparations while maintaining clinical safety standards
- Collaborate with the dental reception team to facilitate patient scheduling, insurance processing, and medical documentation updates
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience supervising or mentoring dental assistants or staff members
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Curve .
- In-depth understanding of infection control protocols including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures
- Ability to operate dental X-ray equipment safely while adhering to radiation safety standards; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA or RDA) required; additional certifications in radiography or specialized areas like endodontics or prosthodontics are preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation processes
