Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery of orders during busy service hours
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances in compliance with health regulations
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and meet service demands
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on food preparation and cooking
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient portioning
- Knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high-quality standards
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Culinary experience demonstrating familiarity with recipe adherence, meal prep, and food industry best practices
- Experience with seafood and oyster
