Job Overview
We have an immediate full time opening for an individual who will be responsible for tuning, sanding, and balancing of marine propellers. This is a year round position. Some Saturdays may be required. Compensation is based on experience. We are seeking a highly skilled experienced Marine Propeller Technician with strong knowledge and background working on propellers- inboard and onboard. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can step in day one and perform without training. Compensation based on experience. This is not a general Marine Technician position, we are looking specifically for someone who can work on props.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and Service inboard and onboard propellers( must be experience to repair 6" to 86" props
- Recondition and Balance aluminum, Stainless steel, nibral and bronze props from 2-8 blades
- Pitch change
- Cupping
- Specifications
- Replace bushings
- Diameter change
- Repitching
- Install hubs
- Ability to operate balancing machines and diagnostic equipment (MRI).
- Perform propeller repair, recondition, tuning and dynamic balance.
- Strong background in performing high quality marine welding.
- Execute welding (TIG, MIG, Stick).
- Perform propeller balancing using dynamic balancing machines.
- Experienced using DA GRINDER
- Can operate a Forklift
- Experienced with the latest prop technology:---Hale MRI, Hale Dynamic Balance Machine, Pitch Gauges , Pitch Blocks, V Blocks, Sand Blaster
Qualifications: Excellent organizational and communication skills
Grinding/Buffing experience
Ability to swing a sledge hammer
Valid drivers license/ must be 18 years old
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
