Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer to join our project management team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between the field superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, architects, and owners. You will be responsible for managing project documentation, submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), schedule coordination, and quality assurance to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation & Logs: Process, review, and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and product samples using project management software.
- Field Support: Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with jobsite logistics, daily progress tracking, material deliveries, and quality control inspections.
- Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate subcontractor schedules, scope clarifications, and procurement tracking.
- Cost & Change Management: Assist in compiling cost data, quantity take-offs, pricing reviews, and tracking potential change orders.
- Meetings & Communication: Prepare agendas, document minutes, and track action items for owner-architect-contractor (OAC) and subcontractor progress meetings.
- Project Closeout: Organize and track closeout documentation, including O&M manuals, warranties, punch lists, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 0–3 years of commercial construction experience (internship/co-op experience counted).
- Self-Driven Initiative: High degree of self-motivation and initiative. We value team members who take ownership of their professional growth, seek out answers proactively, and adapt quickly in an environment without rigid hand-holding.
Skills:
- Strong reading and interpretation skills for blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar), Google Office Suite, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements: Valid driver's license and willingness to visit regional jobsites.
