Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist with basic food prep tasks in accordance with safety standards and recipes
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Support the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness of workstations and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed
- Assist with meal assembly and plating under the guidance of chefs or kitchen managers
- Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory of dish ware and food prep supplies, notifying supervisors of shortages or maintenance needs
- Support catering events or special meal preparations as needed to meet service demands
Requirements
- A servsafe food handler certification (must be valid in the state of California)
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in restaurants or kitchens with a focus on food safety management and sanitation practices
- Knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep
- Ability to perform meal preparation tasks accurately while adhering to safety guidelines
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to serve in a fast-paced setting with professionalism
