Culinary Canvas is seeking talented and motivated Banquet Chefs to join our vibrant and growing team! Banquet Chef Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, cooking, and plating of menu items according to event specifications and Culinary Canvas standards.
- Prepare high-quality dishes with precision, consistency, and strong attention to detail.
- Set up and organize prep spaces, banquet lines, and back-of-house areas efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment before, during, and after events.
- Ensure food safety, sanitation, and quality control practices are followed at all times.
- Execute banquet service production, including buffet setups, plated dinners, and specialty food stations.
- Communicate effectively with the culinary and event team to ensure smooth and seamless service.
- Assist with post-event breakdown, food storage, and kitchen cleanup.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a banquet chef, prep cook, catering chef, or in a similar kitchen role is preferred.
- A strong commitment to delivering not just good food, but truly exceptional culinary experiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on quality, presentation, and timing.
- Reliable transportation is required, as events are held at various venues across the greater St. Louis area.
- A smartphone is needed to receive, view, and accept available shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a positive, professional attitude.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays — with the flexibility to pick up shifts that work best for you.
