Role Summary
We are looking for a reliable and meticulous Punch Press Operator to join our aerospace production team in Whittier, CA. The successful applicant will bring expertise in operating punch presses, CNC systems, manual machining tools, or similar precision equipment, demonstrating the skill to create high-quality parts while maintaining strict tolerances and achieving daily output targets.
This position is an ideal fit for both seasoned Punch Press Operators and machinists with relevant manufacturing backgrounds who are eager to advance their technical capabilities within the aerospace sector.
Core Responsibilities
Punch Press Operation

Configure, run, and oversee punch press machinery to produce precise aerospace components.

Assemble, mount, and accurately calibrate dies according to technical specifications.

Initiate and supervise machine cycles while detecting any mechanical misalignment or functional errors.

Execute initial part checks and perform necessary setup tweaks to help ensure consistent production quality.

Conduct ongoing inspections to verify that all items satisfy quality benchmarks and AQL requirements.
Blueprint Interpretation & Manufacturing

Analyze and comprehend technical blueprints, engineering schematics, and production orders.
-
Fabricate components in strict alignment with design plans and manufacturing guidelines.
-
Apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
-
Consistently manufacture parts that fall within extremely narrow production tolerances.
Quality Inspection
-
Carry out dimensional assessments using precision measurement devices.
-
Utilize tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
-
Maintain tolerances within ±0.001 inches and ensure measurement precision of ±0.0005 inches.

Validate product integrity throughout the entire manufacturing cycle.
Equipment Maintenance

Execute standard preventative maintenance tasks on punch press hardware.

Promptly communicate any equipment failures or maintenance needs to the team.

Help maintain machinery in a safe and reliable working state.
Production Documentation

Input manufacturing data into the digital tracking system.

Log labor hours, output volumes, waste figures, and relevant production notes.

Keep precise records of all production and quality metrics.
Workplace Safety & Housekeeping

Adhere to all organizational safety protocols and regulatory mandates.

Keep the workspace tidy, orderly, and safe for all personnel.

Required Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Equivalent professional experience in manufacturing will be considered.
Experience

1-3 years of relevant machining or manufacturing background is preferred.

Experience in aerospace manufacturing is a plus but not mandatory.

Background in operating punch presses is preferred.

Individuals with CNC, manual machining, Tool & Die, or precision machining experience are encouraged to apply.
