Customer Service & Post-Sales Lead

Overview
S&S Industrial Surplus is seeking a strong, dependable Customer Service & Post-Sales Lead to support and elevate our customer experience and order fulfillment process. This role is ideal for someone who not only excels in customer service but is ready to grow into a leadership position overseeing both Customer Service and Shipping operations.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership, drive accountability, and eventually step into a leadership role managing team performance and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer service (phone, walk-in, email, and online platforms)
- Manage post-sale operations, including order follow-up, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction
- Handle pre-sale inquiries with professionalism and urgency
- Process orders, invoices, payments, refunds, and returns accurately
- Coordinate shipping, track freight, and ensure timely delivery
- Resolve shipping issues, file claims, and follow through to completion
- Manage website and eCommerce orders (including eBay), returns, and cancellations
- Enter and manage invoices in QuickBooks
- Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Shipping, and Warehouse teams
- Identify process improvements and help implement operational efficiencies
- Support and eventually lead Customer Service and Shipping team functions
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of customer service, sales support, or operations experience preferred
- Leadership mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive results
- Strong communication skills with a professional, confident demeanor
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solver who takes ownership rather than passing off issues
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
- Experience with QuickBooks, eBay, or PayPal is a plus
