We are seeking an experienced and dependable Traveling Journeyman Electrician Western Minnesota to join our team and support commercial, industrial, and construction projects across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience and be comfortable traveling for extended project assignments.
The Traveling Journeyman Electrician will work closely with project managers, supervisors, other trades, and field teams to ensure electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, breakers, fixtures, controls, and other electrical components.
- Perform electrical work on commercial, industrial, and construction projects.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using meters, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment.
- Work with both high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems as required.
- Install and troubleshoot control systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) when applicable.
- Perform preventive maintenance and electrical inspections.
- Ensure installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and project requirements.
- Coordinate work with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, project managers, and other trades.
- Identify material and equipment requirements and communicate shortages or issues to supervision.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and project progress.
- Follow all company, client, OSHA, and jobsite safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Travel to various project locations and remain on assignment for the required project duration.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent qualifications preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and NEC requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience with conduit installation, wiring, panels, controls, and electrical equipment.
- Experience with PLCs and industrial controls is a plus.
- High-voltage and low-voltage experience preferred.
- Proficiency with electrical hand tools and testing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively for project assignments.
- Ability to work in construction and industrial environments and adapt to changing project conditions.

- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay: $35.00 - $47.00 per hour
