Overview
The Hearthstone House is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Youth Care Supervisor to lead our residential team and support the growth and well-being of youth in our care. This role is centered on creating a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment where young people can develop confidence, resilience, and the life skills necessary for long-term success.
The Youth Care Supervisor will oversee daily operations, mentor youth care staff, and foster meaningful relationships with residents from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is passionate about youth advocacy, family-centered support, and empowering young people to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support youth care staff to ensure exceptional care and adherence to The Hearthstone House's mission and values.
- Promote a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that encourages personal growth, accountability, and emotional well-being.
- Oversee daily operations, including resident intake, scheduling, behavioral support, and crisis intervention.
- Utilize trauma-informed and de-escalation practices to support youth experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Build collaborative relationships with families, social workers, schools, and community partners to support each resident's individualized goals.
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and confidential documentation in compliance with state and organizational standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and coordinate emergency response procedures, including CPR and first aid protocols.
- Support youth in developing essential life skills, healthy coping strategies, and positive decision-making habits.
- Foster an inclusive and culturally responsive environment where every resident feels respected, valued, and supported.
- Ensure all staff uphold the highest standards of professionalism, compassion, and ethical care.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience in residential care, social services, foster care, or youth development programs.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, child development, behavioral management, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Experience supporting youth facing homelessness, mental health challenges, behavioral health concerns, or substance use disorders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in documentation systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- CPR, First Aid, and crisis-intervention certifications preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving culturally diverse communities with empathy, dignity, and respect.

The Hearthstone House is committed to supporting the success of every team member. All Youth Care Supervisors receive paid training covering trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, CPR and First Aid, behavioral management, medication administration, and other state-required certifications and procedures.
Ongoing professional development and leadership training opportunities are also provided to help staff grow within the organization.
