About the Role
As a General Manager at Fenix Parts, you will be the driving force behind all site operations. You will oversee a team of dedicated managers and supervisors, ensuring our salvage yard runs smoothly, safely, and profitably. Your leadership will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction — all while fostering a positive, growth-focused work environment.
What You’ll Do
- Champion Safety & Compliance: Lead safety initiatives to protect our employees and visitors, creating a culture where safety comes first.
- Build & Develop Teams: Recruit top talent, onboard new hires, and develop future leaders. Support staff through training, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
- Maintain Employee Morale: Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Corporate Support: Work closely with corporate teams to support procurement, marketing, technical services, and field operations.
- Set & Enforce Standards: Ensure our yard adheres to strict quality standards, operational policies, and safety regulations.
- Drive Efficiency & Cost Savings: Manage costs, analyze variances, and implement solutions to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
- Oversee Equipment & Technology: Keep machinery and tools in top shape, recommend upgrades, and oversee capital investments that boost productivity.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate on budgeting and planning, setting the stage for growth and long-term success.
- Financial Management: Oversee cash operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Required 3+ years in automotive salvage or recycling operations, with hands-on experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, motivate staff, and deliver results.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of salvage yard operations, safety standards, and quality control.
- Technical Savvy: Working knowledge of budgets, financial statements, and operational metrics.
- Driven & Strategic: Ability to plan strategically for short- and long-term growth.
- Excellent Communicator: Effectively collaborate and build relationships across teams and stakeholders.
