Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outpatient Therapist who is either fully licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately determine mental health conditions.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focusing on issues such as trauma, grief, addiction, gender identity, autism spectrum disorders, chronic pain, and developmental disabilities.
- Develop tailored treatment plans incorporating therapeutic modalities like psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and psychopharmacology when appropriate.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety and stability during acute episodes.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and medical records compliant with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology effectively for accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management and coordinate care plans that include social work support and outpatient services.
- Engage in clinical research activities and data collection efforts to support continuous improvement of treatment outcomes.
Requirements
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in Virginia.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics or individuals with disabilities in outpatient or clinic settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and trauma-informed care including PTSD management.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic purposes; experience with medical terminology is preferred.
- Experience delivering telehealth services using secure platforms; comfortable managing remote patient assessments and treatment sessions.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention skills and crisis management protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
