Helix Electric is seeking a Electrical Commissioning Technician with strong load banking and energization experience to support data center and commercial electrical projects. This is a hands-on field role focused on testing, startup, troubleshooting, and safe execution around critical power equipment.
Perform and support load bank testing on generators, UPS systems, and related equipment
Support energization, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities in the field
Run and connect temporary cables and terminations for testing scopes
Read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents
Follow LOTO, PPE, OSHA, and NFPA 70E safety practices
8+ years of commercial electrical experience
3-5+ years of journeyman-level experience
Previous hands-on load banking experience
Energization or electrical startup experience required
QEW experience preferred
Experience with switchgear, generators, panels, breakers, UPS systems, and PDUs
Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues safely in the field
Experience with relevant software, such as MS Office, Autodesk, Egnyte, CXAlloy, and Bluebeam
Excellent data collection and analytical skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a teamwork attitude
Candidates must be comfortable with field work, outdoor conditions, PPE, physical labor, overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as required by the project.
