Spartan Roar LLC, a company operating in the Permian Basin, Texas, is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney to provide outside legal counsel on employment matters, regulatory compliance, and legal risk prevention.
REQUIREMENTS
- Law degree / J.D. or equivalent recognized in the U.S.
- Active license to practice law and Good Standing with the applicable State Bar.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Labor & Employment Law.
- Proven experience advising and/or representing employers and businesses.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, due to the need to communicate with personnel in both languages.
- Experience with employment contracts, workplace policies, disciplinary actions, terminations, and internal investigations.
- High standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS
- Specialization or certification in Labor & Employment Law.
- Board Certification, where applicable.
- Verifiable professional recognitions, such as Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, or equivalent.
- Membership in professional labor and employment law associations.
- Professional Liability / Malpractice Insurance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide legal counsel to the company regarding:
- Hiring and classification of employees and independent contractors.
- Employment contracts, policies, and documentation.
- Disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Internal investigations and employment claims.
- Employment compliance and litigation prevention.
- Matters involving the EEOC, wage & hour issues, and other employment authorities.
ENGAGEMENT
Professional Services / Independent Contractor.
