The Recovery Residence Manager is a full-time, live-in professional with the responsibility of managing and coordinating the Recovery Residence. This includes duties related to administration, housekeeping, and daily living. The primary responsibility of a Recovery Residence House Manager will be to maintain an environment that is safe, comfortable and secure for the residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position works directly with the residents in the residential treatment setting and early recovery phase, providing structure and support to those clients seeking to establish stable long-term recovery from a substance use disorder.
- The Recovery Residence Manager oversees daily operations of the Recovery Residence. This includes managing and coordinating daily housekeeping tasks, leading weekly “House Meetings,” conducting room inspections, and performing for random drug testing.
- Builds healthy rapport with the residents.
- Assign household chores to residents; laundry schedule.
- Monitor client’s rooms for cleanliness.
- Ensure that clients have the items that they need (i.e. linen, hygiene products, clean clothes, etc.).
- Ensure that all residents are properly respecting and maintaining common areas (esp. kitchen, living room, game room).
- Monitor that residents are following house rules including curfew/lights out hours.
- Observe and report any unusual behaviors or potential areas of conflict between residents.
- Monitor proper use and functioning of appliances and other household equipment. Observe any unusual activities that may pose a safety or nuisance issue for the clients or neighbors.
- Maintain inventory of all household supplies (i.e. cleaning supplies, cooking utensils, furniture, etc).
- Prepare bedrooms for all new residents entering into Homes (i.e. clean linens, dresser drawers, bedroom cleanliness etc).
- Review Program and House Rules with all new residents and ensure client compliance with house rules.
- Facilitate House Meetings, Community Meetings and a weekend Wrap Up or Life Skills Groups.
- Assist in monitoring PHS property to protect from damage and/or theft. Reporting maintenance issues regularly to the Housing Coordinator.
- The House Manager will document conflicts, health issues, safety concerns etc.
- The House Manager will use good judgement in the event of emergencies, to include contacting 911 to address health emergencies and notifying management once the situation is stable.
- 20. The House Manager will respect confidentiality at all times. (Do not share resident personal information with other clients or staff outside of the residential treatment facility.
- The House Manager will assist in the facilitation of meals (ie… pass out meals prepared by the chef and ensure residents clean up after themselves following all meals
- House Managers MUST attend all scheduled trainings and certifications!
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED; AA Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 plus years of sustained recovery from a substance use disorder
- Willingness to obtain additional education including Certified Peer Supporter training, CPR/First Aid, Narcan Training and drug testing procedures.
- Requires maintaining a visible presence in the Recovery Residence, including being present in the residence at night.
- Minor house maintenance/repair skills a plus!
- Respect for the confidentiality of all communications required within job duties, including consumer/employee records and documents, and electronic transmission by voice, data, and wire
