We are seeking to contract Hospital Medicine Physicians / Hospitalists to provide onsite inpatient hospital medicine services for our military Veterans at the Fargo VA Health Care System in Fargo, North Dakota.

- Shift Times: Day: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm | Night: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am (local Fargo time)
- Hours of Operation: 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year, including Federal holidays

- Pay: $155+/hour
Contract Description/Overview:
Your services will support the Fargo VA Health Care System by providing onsite Hospital Medicine services to our nation’s Veterans. Hospitalists will provide inpatient physician coverage in accordance with VA standards, facility policies, and the scope of care outlined by the VA.
This opportunity requires physicians who are comfortable working in a 24/7 hospital environment and providing high-quality inpatient medical care as part of an interdisciplinary VA healthcare team.
- Provide onsite Hospital Medicine / Hospitalist services for Veterans receiving care at the Fargo VA Health Care System.
- Provide both day and night coverage through scheduled 12-hour shifts.
- Day shifts are scheduled from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
- Night shifts are scheduled from 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
- Services are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, including Federal holidays.
- Each Hospitalist is expected to provide 2,184 clinical hours per contract year.
- The total requirement for two full-time Hospitalists is 4,368 clinical hours per contract year.
- Physicians will perform the Hospital Medicine scope of care required by the VA and must have appropriate experience providing inpatient Hospital Medicine services.
- Physicians must successfully complete all required VA credentialing and privileging before providing services.
- Clinical privileges are subject to approval by the Facility Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director.
- Physicians must maintain all required licenses, certifications, credentials, and continue medical education throughout the contract period.
- Providers must comply with all applicable VA privacy, security, information-system access, and Rules of Behavior requirements.
Education/Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- North Dakota medical licensure is preferred but is not stated as mandatory for onsite VA practice.
- Candidates with a current or prior medical license that was restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked/surrendered pending action, or denied upon application will not be considered.
- Must have experience providing the required Hospital Medicine scope of care.
- Maintain current VHA-approved BLS and ACLS, or approved equivalent certifications, throughout the period of performance.
- Maintain a current DEA certificate.
- Possess an appropriate National Provider Identifier (NPI) and applicable NPPES/taxonomy confirmation.
- Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
- Must successfully complete VA credentialing and privileging before beginning clinical services.
- Must maintain required Continuing Medical Education (CME) and provide all documentation necessary for privileging and re-privileging.
- Must satisfy all applicable VA background/security, privacy, information-system access, and Rules of Behavior requirements.
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the VA healthcare team.
