Liquid Measurement Technician – LACT & Meter Proving

Position Overview
AKM Measurement is seeking an experienced Liquid Measurement Technician with a strong background in LACT units, crude oil custody transfer, and meter proving.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, self-motivated technician capable of independently troubleshooting, maintaining, calibrating, and proving liquid measurement equipment throughout the Permian Basin.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with LACT systems and understand the importance of accurate, reliable custody-transfer measurement.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and commission LACT units
- Perform meter proving and meter-factor verification
- Operate and troubleshoot small-volume piston, ball, and master-meter proving systems
- Work with Coriolis, positive displacement, and turbine meters
- Troubleshoot liquid measurement discrepancies
- Configure and verify flow computers and RTUs
- Calibrate pressure and temperature transmitters
- Inspect and troubleshoot BS&W / water-cut measurement equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot automatic sampling systems
- Troubleshoot control valves, pumps, strainers, air eliminators, and associated LACT equipment
- Review proving reports and measurement data
- Verify meter factors and measurement calculations
- Assist with new LACT installations and commissioning
- Maintain accurate calibration, proving, and service documentation
- Communicate effectively with customers, operations personnel, and other technicians
- Follow company and customer safety requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of liquid measurement or LACT experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of crude oil custody-transfer measurement
- Hands-on meter proving experience
- Experience with Coriolis and PD meters
- Understanding of applicable API MPMS standards
- Ability to independently diagnose measurement problems
- Electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting experience
- Experience with flow computers, PLCs, and RTUs is a plus
- Ability to read P&IDs, electrical drawings, and measurement schematics
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel throughout the Permian Basin as required
