Duties
- Lead and supervise all store activities, including sales, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service.
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees to build a high-performing retail team.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills in sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
- Manage payroll, scheduling, and employee orientation to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Oversee inventory control, purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize profitability.
- Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting with accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to foster team growth and improve managerial communication.
- Maintain store appearance through merchandising standards, stocking procedures, and organized displays.
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette and excellent communication skills.
- Monitor operational metrics such as sales targets, budgeting, and inventory levels to meet business goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, cash handling procedures, and store policies at all times.
Experience
- Proven management experience in the retail industry with a focus on sales team leadership and operational oversight.
- Demonstrated ability in supervising staff through effective training & development initiatives.
- Strong background in retail math including pricing strategies, budgeting, and financial reconciliation such as bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, and wireless sales technology.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective managerial communication skills coupled with leadership qualities that motivate teams toward shared goals.
- Experience in recruiting bilingual or multilingual staff is preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience within retail stores is highly desirable.
