Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route documentation in compliance with federal regulations
- Deliver freight efficiently to various locations while managing route driving schedules and optimizing delivery times
- Assist with securing loads to prevent shifting during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and brokers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial driving
- Proficiency in operating automatic transmission trucks and handling a refrigerated trailer
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to truck driving, load securement, and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and adhere to DOT regulations
- Strong route planning skills for efficient delivery scheduling
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatcher and broker
