Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales accurately and swiftly.
- Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service through active communication and attentive listening.
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including cash, credit, and mobile payments.
- Upsell products by highlighting features and benefits during customer interactions to maximize sales opportunities.
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase items’ features and encourage purchases.
- Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure the sales floor is attractive, organized, and fully stocked.
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory counts.
- Provide guidance on store policies and assist customers with returns or exchanges in a friendly manner.
- Engage in product knowledge sharing to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for supporting team efforts.
- Ability to perform cashier duties efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environments is beneficial but not mandatory.
