Position Overview
IMC teachers are more than content experts-they are learning designers, student mentors,
and community connectors. Each teacher helps co-create a flexible, inclusive, and joyful
learning environment where students pursue mastery at their own pace, develop essential life
and career skills, and grow into curious, capable, and confident individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Learning Experiences - Create meaningful, relevant, and flexible learning
pathways that align with student goals and IMC's competency-based framework.
- Assess for Learning - Utilize multiple forms of assessment, including performance
tasks and student reflection, to gauge progress toward mastery and provide actionable
feedback.
- Foster Relationships - Se.rve as an advisor to a small group of students, partnering
with families and community members to support student growth across academic and
social-emotional domains.
- Support Agency and Identity - Empower students to make choices, set goals, and
reflect on their learning. Help them connect their learning to future opportunities.
- Collaborate and L,.earn - Participate in professional learning communities, contribute
to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, _and co-create solutions that
support all learners.
Design and support learning that happens in real-world settings-through field
experiences, projects with local organizations, and client-connected work.
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana teaching license or willingness to pursue a license through an approved
pathway
- Belief in the potential of every tudent and commitment to equity and inclusion
- !=xperience or strong interest in personalized, project-based, or competency-based
learning
- Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to thrive in a startup-like environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
