Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and successful delivery of heavy civil and underground utility construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive project management experience, and a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Duties
- Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of complex civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Manage project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to foster collaboration and ensure seamless communication across all phases of construction
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software, coordinating construction schedule activities effectively
- Oversee construction estimating processes and prepare comprehensive cost management plans utilizing HeavyBid or equivalent tools
- Review construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings such as Civil 3D files to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Ensure construction regulatory compliance by adhering to local, state, and federal regulations related to civil infrastructure projects
- Utilize construction management software like ProCore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office to track progress, document issues, and generate reports for stakeholders
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support business development and client relationship efforts.
- Mentor and develop junior project management staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of heavy civil construction experience.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Strong background in underground utilities, water, sewer, storm drain, grading, and public works projects.
- Proven experience managing projects valued at $5M+.
- Strong knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and cost controls.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proven experience managing large-scale civil or infrastructure construction projects with a strong understanding of heavy civil construction
- Extensive knowledge of construction regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies applicable to civil projects
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project and Construction scheduling best practices
- Strong background in managing project budgets, contracts, and cost control measures using HeavyBid, Computer Ease or similar software
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction plans review
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholders
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with municipal and public agency projects.
- Design-Build experience.
- Experience with NDOT, local municipalities, and public works agencies.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
